Help us elect pro-union candidates to the State House!
Join the Western Mass Area Labor Federation and the Mass AFL-CIO to support pro-union candidates in Western Mass. Join us for labor walks and help us educate union members about the 2026 elections. Our employers have enough friends in the State House. Let's send friends of labor to Beacon Hill together.
About the Candidates
Johnnie McKnight

Johnnie McKnight is a father, public school teacher, and active union member running for State Representative in Springfield's 11th Hampden District. The Western Mass Area Labor Federation, Massachusetts AFL-CIO, and Massachusetts Teachers Association have all endorsed Johnnie because we know that he will bring union values to the State House.
We are tired of politicians who say they support unions but never follow through. Johnnie wants to put power back in the hands of union members by supporting Public Sector Right to Strike. He has a plan to fight for working people facing the cost of living crisis. He's also deeply connected to the Springfield community and wants to bring funding back to underserved communities in Western Mass.
Rep. Pat Duffy

Rep. Pat Duffy is a long time supporter of the labor movement in the State House. She first got involved in unions while working at UMass Amherst, serving as lead organizer of the Continuing Education teachers, and worked on the bargaining committee for their first contract. Rep. Duffy has been an advocate for union education, and is currently working with the Western Mass Area Labor Federation to bring a labor studies program to Holyoke Community College.
Rep. Duffy has shown her support for various sectors of the union movement, from fighting for a Project Labor Agreement at the Holyoke Soldiers Home, filing legislation with the MTA, and working with members of SEIU 1199 to ensure support for strong PCA contracts and program funding. Rep. Duffy has the endorsement of the Mass AFL-CIO, SEIU Local 1199, the Carpenters Union, and more!
